With temporary virtual learning coming to an end, it’s important that we all take a moment to reflect on what has been an emotional, exhausting and difficult time for our extraordinary SPPS community. As your superintendent, I couldn’t be more proud of the dignity, the worthiness that you brought to our community in this moment.

Staff and families are invited to provide feedback on the development of the SPPS 2033 strategic plan so far. An in-person community engagement meeting will be held at Harding High School on Tuesday, May 12, at 5:30 p.m. The meeting will be held in English, Spanish, Hmong, Karen and Somali.

Each year, SPPS congratulates and recognizes employees celebrating 25 years of employment at a luncheon. HR has compiled a preliminary list of employees to be recognized this year. The dates for eligibility are 07/01/2001 – 06/30/2002.

The Department of Justice announced an extension to the requirements for web content and mobile app accessibility for government entities, including school districts. SPPS's ADA accessibility deadline has been extended from April 24, 2026, to April 26, 2027.

This can include self-care routines that nurture mental wellbeing, such as strategies like mindfulness, relaxation techniques, setting boundaries, and caring for our physical health. In celebration of Asian American, Native Hawaiian and Pacific Islander Heritage Month, Wellstone Elementary technology teacher Zoua Yang created a website with resources to share with students and families.
