What’s the first thing that you want people to notice? 

The title is often the first way that people will decide if your message is for them or not. A catchy headline or title is what will draw your audience in and make them want to read the details. Your title should be short, punchy and to the point.

Make it simple and readable

Ensure that information is easily readable, presented without visual clutter and answers your audiences’ main question: What's in it for me? 

• Keep copy brief and to-the-point.
• Don't be afraid to point to your website where additional and more in-depth information should live.
• Easy-to-read and digestible bullet points can be more powerful than long sentences and paragraphs. 
• Use no more than two fonts. Fewer fonts can improve legibility. 
• If content needs to be translated into multiple languages, keep in mind that often translations are longer than English and will take up more space. So, less really is more.

It’s important to indicate a clear next step for your audience. What do you want them to do? A classic call to action are the phrases Register now or Mark your calendar.

In addition to pointing back to a website where information should also live, be sure to include contact information. This can be a general email, Let's Talk form or phone number that your audience can use to ask questions and get information if needed.

All flyers, brochures and campaigns should incorporate the following:

• School Logo if applicable
• SPPS brand colors only
• SPPS approved fonts
• APA Style

If icons or images are used, please only use high quality (non-pixelated), licensed or open use images. High quality branded icons can also be found in our Icon Library.
