Health & Wellness Information for Students and Families
At SPPS, the primary goal of our Health & Wellness program is to assist students to be self-sufficient in managing their health care within age appropriate and developmental expectations, thereby preparing all students for life.
Our Licensed School Nurses and Health & Wellness staff work closely with families, teachers, and school teams to:
- Promote student and staff well-being.
- Provide skilled nursing and health condition management.
- Encourage self-care and self-advocacy.
- Assist with identifying and obtaining health resources
If your child has a health condition that affects learning, requires medication at school, or may lead to a medical emergency, please contact your school's Licensed School Nurse as soon as possible.
While health staff support confidentiality around your child’s health condition(s), health information may be shared with SPPS teachers and/or other school staff on a need-to-know basis to support student learning, health and safety. This is in accordance with the Family Educational Rights and Privacy (FERPA) Act.
