¡Bienvenidos! My name is Mr. Spence and I live across the river in Minneapolis. I started learning Spanish in
first grade and have never stopped. I graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1989. After graduation I served
in the Navy before I went on to study Architecture and Spanish at the University of Minnesota. My senior year
at the U of M I studied in Oaxaca, Oaxaca, Mexico for 6 months and graduated in 2000.
I started teaching Spanish, as a community expert, in 2001 at Centennial High School in Circle Pines, MN. I
soon discovered my passion for teaching and decided to enroll in the liscensure program at St. Mary's University Twin Cities
Campus and in 2014 I enrolled at Hamline and I recieved my administrators license.
I started in St. Paul in 2004, so this is my 17th year in the district, Wow! I love my job and our children and I look forward to
guiding them through their Spanish language journey.
