Michael Houston

  • As I enter my 16th year as a math teacher, I can honestly say that each day in the classroom brings a new challenge.  Whether it be trying to teach math concepts to the students, or whether I can connect with each student and build trust with them, I look forward to cultivating, guiding, mentoring, and most importantly having fun with my students.  I have been fortunate to have had an impact and look forward to making more.  In addition to teaching, I also serve as the Mathematics Department Chair since 2010.

    A little about me:

I was born and raised in Columbus, Ohio.  I moved to Minnesota 1999 with aspirations of playing football.  I was lucky enough to play at the University of Minnesota for a season, as a walk-on athlete.  After two years at the U of M, I transferred to a Concordia University, Saint Paul finishing up my undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Education in 2004.  In 2011, I completed my M.A.Ed at Hamline University.
