Degrees and Certifications:
Hello and Welcome!
My name is Michelle Anderson. This is my 6th year of teaching at Crossroads. Prior to Crossroads, I taught middle school language arts/reading and kindergarten and 1st grade reading intervention. I graduated from Minnesota State University, Mankato with a Bachelor of Science Degree in pre-primary, elementary, and middle school education. Upon graduation, I went on to graduate school and received my K-12 Reading Licensure and Master’s Degree in Literacy Education from St. Mary’s University-Winona. Keeping a growth mindset and my joy for learning, I continued my education by receiving my Montessori certification in E1 through Midwest Montessori Teacher Training Center in Chicago, Illinois. I am currently taking courses to receive my TESOL certification (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages) through Grand Canyon University-Arizona.
In my free time I enjoy the outdoors, sports, exercising, traveling, adventure, dancing, family and friends. I studio danced on a competitive dance line for 11 years, coached high school dance team and am a Zumba instructor.
I’m looking forward to developing academic and social spirit in our community! Room 1402 strives to be independent, responsible, respectful, and cooperative learners.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions via email or phone.
A great year ahead!
