Program Updates:
Early Childhood Special Education services will be in person for the 2021-2022 school year.
The location of services is determined by the team. Individual intervention sessions may occur at home, in community early care and education centers or at an SPPS location. All services will be provided in person according to your child’s Individual Family Service Plan or Individualized Education Program plan.
All SPPS Pre-K and ECSE classrooms are in person for the 2021-2022 school year.
For ages Birth to 3rd birthday, teams may determine that due to COVID health and safety concerns, services should be provided virtually. If the team determines services will not be in person, all services on the Individual Family Service Plan will be provided virtually.
For ages 3-5, some students may be at higher risk for severe illness from COVID-19. When students have a documented medical condition the IEP team may consider a homebound IEP and whether services should be provided virtually.
COVID-19 safety procedures will be followed for all in person services. For more information, see the SPPS Safe Learning Plan.
Referrals:Help Me Grow accept referrals for children ages Birth to 5 who may have a delay in their development.SPPS staff will reach out to families within one to two weeks following a referral.
