Fundraising

  • Each fall, Capitol Hill PTO holds a Direct Donation Drive to support field experiences, instrumental music program support, community building, in-residence programming, classroom enhancements and extra-curricular events. 

    The PTO is a shared effort between parents, guardians, faculty, and staff at Capitol Hill Magnet School that supports our school with financial contributions and volunteer efforts in the classroom and school-wide. We need you to participate.

    You can participate in two critical ways:

    » Make a direct contribution of $100 per student. For two children, you would pay $200. This is a suggested amount, pay what you can. Remember that at Capitol Hill we don’t nickel and dime you by asking for payments for each individual field trip or enrichment activity. We have a diverse community at Capitol Hill. If you can, please consider sponsoring another Capitol Hill student. Your gift is 100% tax deductible.

    » Attend PTO meetings and share your thoughts, ideas and questions. Together we advocate for our children and provide support for school wide, grade level and interest based activities and programs.

     

    Where does my money go?

    The money raised by the PTO goes straight back to teachers and students.

    Here are just a few of the things parent donations funded last year.

     You can make your donation one of three ways:

    1. Click "DONATE" at the top right hand side of this of this page to go directly to the CH PTO page on GiveMN (or click here: https://givemn.org/organization/Capitol-Hill-Fund-Raising to land in the same spot)
    2. Send a check to the Capitol Hill Office: 560 Concordia Ave, St. Paul, MN 55103. Please write PTO, and your child(ren)'s name(s) and grade(s) in the memo.
    3. In person at the office, at a PTO meeting, or other event.

    *** You can double your gift of support to Capitol Hill by submitting a corporate matching gift form from your employer. Some companies provide this benefit for both current employees and retirees. Please check with your human resources representative. All donations are tax deductible (ID # 41-1967784).  Please let the treasurer know and she will provide you with the letter and forms.  

    This year we have a Direct Donation goal of $40,000. Our annual budget is $86,000. The remainder of our revenue will come from the Fall Movie Night, Apex Fun Run, Spring Carnival, and Celebration of Community. Pease help us get off to a great start with strong donations at the beginning of the school year.
