State Launches Vaccine Pilot for School Staff
As one of the largest districts in the state, Saint Paul Public Schools (SPPS) has received an allotment of 88 vaccines, the highest amount allotted. The Governor is doing everything he can to get more vaccine to Minnesota.

Change for Family Access to School Buildings
Students must be dropped off outside school building entrances. Students cannot be escorted by family members to their classrooms or anywhere else inside the building. In addition, families will not be allowed to have lunch, observe a class, volunteer or engage in any other activities in school buildings.

While COVID-19 case rates are no longer a single criteria for opening elementary schools, SPPS is keeping a close eye on community spread, including the new strain that has been identified in Minnesota.

Deadline to Change Learning Model for Elementary School Students Extended to January 11, 2021
As we transition to in-person learning, families have an opportunity to choose their preferred learning model -- to continue with distance learning through the Virtual Learning School or move to full-time, in-person learning.

In order to support our secondary students who need additional help, SPPS will begin offering in-person support for some 6-12 grade students.

Governor Walz announced new guidelines that will allow elementary schools to return to full-time in-person learning. SPPS is planning to start bringing students back for full-time in-person learning on Monday, February 1, starting with our youngest learners.
