Less than one week before teachers report back to work (August 31) but most staff have already been actively working, trying to get a head start on Distance Learning 2.0.  I hope you've enjoyed your extended summer break!

As you've probably heard, St. Paul Public Schools will begin with DL (Distance Learning) and then a decision will come at a later time to see whether it will be safe to construct a hybrid setting or return to classroom for everyone.  I don't know what to feel like at this moment.  Education is best when it's one to one contact.  Because we have such a diverse background of students, it's very hard for teachers to get the message across to everyone.  I hope that you will do your best as teachers prepare to give the instructions the best we can as well.  This soon will pass.

My family went camping for the first time this year.  We didn't go far because we wanted to test out our new travel trailer that was bought in July.  That was our crazy pandemic purchases; a used truck & a travel trailer.  The whole family went so it was well worth it.  We went to Shades of Sherwood down by Zumbrota, MN.  Last time the kids were there they were still in grade school.  We also went & stayed at a resort up in Alexandria, MN but that's not considered camping I don't think.

My nephew from Georgia had a wedding at our church in Maplewood.   Some family members made the trip but we were limited in numbers of participants.  It was good to get out and visit with families & friends.

Lastly, I was able to attend two of my former soccer players and former Farnsworth student's high school graduation party.  One was a drive by party and the other one was held at a park.  It was quick & easy!  Oh, I almost forgot.  I own son, Elijah, had a graduation party at our house as well.  He graduated this year and will be attending Century College to start off.
