Where to Go for Thanksgiving Meals

Thanksgiving meals

Thanksgiving is Thursday, Nov. 28 and Saint Paul Public Schools will be closed Nov. 28-29. Here are a few local organizations serving free or low-cost holiday meals on Thanksgiving.

Union Gospel Mission: Throughout the year, the Union Gospel Mission serves meals to people in need. This year, its annual Thanksgiving meal is from 11:30 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the upstairs chapel of the men’s campus at 435 University Ave. E., Saint Paul.

Salvation Army: Meals will be served from noon until 2 p.m. on the day before Thanksgiving, Wednesday, Nov. 27, at Eastside Worship and Service Center, 1019 Payne Ave., Saint Paul.

Thanksgiving Day, Thursday, Nov. 28, meal hours and locations include:

  • 7-9 a.m., 11 a.m.-2 p.m. and 4-6 p.m. at Harbor Light Center,1010 Currie Ave., Minneapolis
  • 11:30 a.m.-1 p.m. at Minneapolis Parkview Worship and Service Center, 2024 Lyndale Ave. N, Minneapolis

Loaves and Fishes: will Dinner will be served on Thanksgiving evening from 5:30-6:30 p.m.at the St. Stephens location, 2123 Clinton Ave. S., Minneapolis 

Hungersolutions.org provides a list of nearby food pantries searchable by entering your current address. Service providers include Catholic Charities, the Hallie Q. Brown Food Shelf, the Masjid At-Taqwa food shelf, Salvation Army and more.
