SPPS Celebrates National African American Parent Involvement Day

Published by Saint Paul Public Schools Feb. 13, 2020

National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID) is a day for all parents to come to their child's school, see what their day is like and support their child's educational future. On Feb. 10, hundreds of parents and dignitaries visited schools throughout SPPS. Mayor Melvin Carter met with families at Murray Middle School. Parents at Barack and Michelle Obama Elementary visited classrooms and heard performances by the Walker West Music Academy. At Harding Senior High School, families listened to student music, poetry and Black History Month presentations. For more about NAAPID in the Saint Paul Public Schools, visit spps.org/NAAPID.
