Building Students’ Futures Through the Trades

Posted by Saint Paul Public Schools on November 1, 2018

During the Construct Tomorrow job fair at Washington Technology Magnet, hundreds of SPPS students received a hands-on introduction to the types of construction and skilled trades jobs available throughout the city and state. Many SPPS painters, welders, electricians and other industry professionals demonstrated their skills and discussed career possibilities within the booming construction industry. Construct Tomorrow and the SPPS Career and Technical Education (CTE) program sponsored the fair. Providing career-focused, hands-on opportunities for all middle and high school students is a key objective of the new SPPS Achieves Strategic Plan. In addition, every SPPS high school has many career pathways and programs for students to choose from, learn more here.
