This summer, Central Senior High School teacher Stephanie McCleerey had the opportunity of a lifetime when she traveled to Washington D.C to witness the U.S. Supreme Court in action. Through 'Street Law', a nonprofit organization that educates young people about law and government, she participated in the Supreme Court Institute for Teachers. The institute brings a select group of high school social studies teachers to Washington, for an immersive six days of educational activities related to teaching about the Court. McCleerey was one of 60 teachers chosen nationwide to participate in the program. She is excited to incorporate what she learned this summer into her classroom.
