COVID-19 Vaccine Clinics for SPPS Staff
As you know, the Board of Education passed a resolution requiring all SPPS staff members and contractors to receive the COVID-19 vaccine or submit to weekly COVID-19 testing. This requirement takes effect on October 15.
SPPS is partnering with Saint Paul Ramsey County Public Health to hold additional COVID-19 vaccine clinics to promote access. Walk-in or make an appointment for any of these dates:
- Tuesday, Sept 14 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Harding High School
- Wednesday, Sept 15 from 4 to 6 p.m. at Washington Tech
- Thursday, Sept. 16 from 3 to 6 p.m. at 360 Colborne
- Thursday, Sept. 23 from 3 to 6 p.m. at 360 Colborne
Vaccination is the leading public health prevention strategy to end the pandemic. Agrowing body of evidence suggests that people who are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 are less likely to become infected and develop symptoms and are at a substantially reduced risk from severe illness and death from COVID-19 compared with unvaccinated people. If staff attend a vaccine clinic during their workday, they should submit this as time off. Human Resources will provide additional information on how that time should be submitted. HR is currently developing a process through which staff members can acknowledge being fully vaccinated; additional details will come in the near future.
Please continue to layer your prevention strategies against COVID-19: Get vaccinated, wear a mask, social distance when possible, wash your hands frequently, stay home if you are sick and make a report if you test positive for COVID-19. Thank you for doing your part to end this pandemic and keep our schools open.
