Commercial Drivers License Permit Class (CDL)

Course Description:
This course will provide students with the knowledge necessary to pass the Federal and State of Minnesota Commercial Driver's License Permit.
- General knowledge test
- Air brake test
- Combination vehicle test
- Pre-trip vehicle inspection test
- Transporting passengers safety test
- School bus endorsement test
Requirements:
- 8 week commitment
- CASAS Reading test score of 226+ or TABE 11/12 M Reading test score of 442+
- Valid drivers license with a clean driving record
- No DWI’s, no speeding tickets in the last five years. No accidents in the last three years
- 21 years of age
- Ability to sit for long periods of time
Next steps and additional career information:
Upon completion of this course students will need to take the behind the wheel training to complete their CDL. This training can be completed at Dakota County Technical College or through an independent trucking company, who will provide the behind the wheel training once hired.
