Families First

Rent Assistance Program

Kids need stable housing to learn and grow. But many Saint Paul families struggle to make rent, and are only one emergency away from losing their housing.

That's why the City of Saint Paul and the Saint Paul Public Schools have teamed up to keep kids and their grown-ups in their homes.

If you struggle with rent, the Families First Housing Pilot can help. You may qualify for $300 a month in rent assistance, and personalized housing support.

To qualify you need to have:

  • A child in PreK, Kindergarten, 1st, 2nd, or 3rd grade attending one of the following schools:
    • Benjamin E. Mays IB World School
    • Jackson Elementary
    • Maxfield Elementary
    • Dayton's Bluff Achievement Plus Elementary
    • John A. Johnson Achievement Plus Elementary
    • Saint Paul City School
    • Saint Paul Music Academy
  • Rent in St. Paul
