Hello Wellstone families,
Welcome to 3rd- 5th graders returning to the building tomorrow February 16, 2021.

Reminder - Do not send your child to school if they are sick.
Symptoms of COVID-19 include: fever greater than or equal to 100.4° F, new onset and/or worsening cough, difficulty breathing, new loss of taste or smell OR at least 2 of the following: sore throat, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, chills, muscle pain, excessive fatigue, new onset of headache, new onset of nasal congestion or runny nose. |
Answer the following four questions each morning before sending your child to school:
- Did my child recently test positive for COVID-19?
- Does my child have any of the COVID-19 symptoms listed above?
- Does my child live with someone who is being tested for COVID-19 or showing symptoms of COVID-19?
- Did my child have close contact (within 6 feet for more than 15 minutes) with someone who recently tested positive for COVID-19?
If you answered YES to any of the above:
- Do not send your child to school, report your child’s absence, and contact your child’s healthcare provider.
- Report your child’s symptoms or exposure using the online SPPS COVID-19 Reporting System.

Our Open House for prospective families is Thursday February 25, 2021 at 4:30. This will be an opportunity for families who are shopping for a new school for next fall to get to know us and have some of their questions answered. It will be a virtual event held via ZOOM. Please share this sign up link with friends and family that may be interested in attending. Sign up is also available on the Wellstone website.
STARTING FEBRUARY 16 free meal boxes can be picked up at these locations including Wellstone Elementary on Fridays from 2-3pm. Please use this form to pre-order your meal boxes. Complete this form if you need to cancel, change your pick up location or number of meal boxes.

Save the Date: African American Author Showcase, February 18, 2021
National African American Parent Involvement Day (NAAPID) will not take place this year. Instead, the Parents of African American Students Advisory Council will present a virtual, African American author showcase, in celebration of Black History Month.

Parent pick up procedures
Complete this form if you have not already done so if you will be picking your child up everyday. Once this form is completed you do not need to call everyday. If you are only picking your child up occasionally please call the attendance line at (Eng) 651-744-2363 or (Spa) 651-744-1619 and leave a message stating your child's name, grade and teacher by 1:00 pm. After 1:00 it is difficult to process your pickup request and you will need to contact the teacher directly in order to arrange to pick your child up. If you are picking your child up mid day for appointments or due to illness, call the office at 651-290-8354 to have your child sent out to your car.
Parent drop off procedures
You can drop your child off in the morning on Marion St. from 9:15-9:35. Staff will be outside to welcome students and monitor safety. If you arrive after 9:35 doors will be locked and you will need to call the office at 651-290-8354 to gain access to the building.
