Welcome Back from Winter Break
Good evening. This is Principal Angelica Van Iperen. I want to welcome everyone back to the 2021-2022 school year, and I wish all of our students a Happy New Year. I also hope all of our families have been enjoying time together and the break from school while staying healthy and safe. I want to bring to your attention that our school district has been looking at the new CDC guidelines but has not yet made a decision for changing any of the protocols for quarantining due to COVID exposures. SPPS COVID team will let us know as soon as any decisions are made. During this time, we are continuing to stress the importance of all the tools we have to keep our community as safe as possible. These tools include mask wearing, hand washing, distancing and spacing out lunch periods, staying in our classroom cohorts as much as possible, and encouraging everyone eligible to be vaccinated as well as boosted six months after the second shot. Another equally important tool is to stay home when experiencing any symptoms of illness. It is required to take a test for COVID-19 if a student is experiencing any symptoms. We have plenty of COVID-19 home tests which yield results in fifteen minutes and can be sent home when you let us know your child is experiencing symptoms. Call the attendance line to report the absence at 651- 744-2363. These tools keep all of our community safer. If you need any assistance with any of this or have questions do not hesitate to contact us.
