New Course of Study: Anti-Racist Educator/Anti-Racist Classroom

The Office of Equity invites all SPPS staff to participate in our year-long Course of Study: Anti-Racist Educator/Anti-Racist Classroom. We are partnering with Dr. Ali Michael to present eight virtual sessions on Wednesdays (PreK-5) and Thursdays (6-12) from 6:00-7:30 pm.

Register for the course in PowerSchool. All SPPS staff are invited to register. Attendance at all eight sessions of your cohort is required. In order to be admitted into the session and counted as present, your Zoom name must include your first and last name. Zoom instructions will be included in the pre-session emails.
 
The course will meet 8 times for 1.5 hours, totaling 12 clock hours. Applicable hours are provided for participants who attend all sessions and complete any accompanying coursework. Teachers are eligible to receive 12 regular clock hours. EAs are eligible to receive 1.2 in-service hours. TAs are eligible to receive 12 TA-LC hours. This course will meet the Cultural Competency relicensure requirements for P1 (Race, Culture, and Systemic Racism - 2 hrs) and P3 (Implicit Bias - 1).
