SPPS has launched a new online reporting system for COVID-19 concerns. A red button has been placed on several prominent pages of spps.org for staff, students and visitors to report COVID-19 symptoms, positive tests for COVID-19, or close contacts with someone with COVID-19. A phone number is listed for families who need to report in Spanish, Hmong, Somali or Karen.
If you have a COVID concern and have been on SPPS property, you are encouraged to report it the same day using this online system. If someone else informs you of their COVID concern, direct them to report it or assist if they need help.
SPPS works closely with the Minnesota Department of Health to determine action steps for a reported case of COVID-19. Guidance from local and state health officials will determine if communications are needed to an individual, a classroom, program participants, athletics teams/pods or a whole building. For more information, please refer to the COVID-19 Communications Protocol.
A COVID-19 Student and Family Guidelines document is available for families in multiple languages, in addition to information about the new reporting system. Please reinforce with the students and families you work with the importance of using this tool.
We need everyone’s help in controlling the spread of COVID-19 by identifying and reporting concerns early and following the recommended exclusion guidelines.
