Thanking SPPS Students for Honoring their Community with Share the Love

In 2019, 3156 SPPS students from 63 student groups at 37 schools participated in Share the Love!

Share the Love, a Community Education program, invites youth to thank, honor or support members of their community with a handmade card and positive message.

Share the Love is designed to deepen young people's understanding of what it means to build strong communities. Groups were provided with an activity guide, art supplies and a prepaid mailing box to send their cards to their chosen recipients. Students worked with staff to consider the needs of their community and the people in it.

Some students were inspired to thank school personnel while others sent "love" to homebound seniors, children currently hospitalized, school volunteers, and local first responders.
