PreK-4 (Lower Campus) Distance Learning Family Update Week of June 8-9, 2020

Principal Message from Mr. B.

Dear Farnsworth Aerospace PreK-4 family,

As I sit down to write our last Distance Learning Family Update for the 2019-2020 school year I struggle with the “right” words to share with you.  As a school community, we have been navigating the unexpected challenges of distance learning during a pandemic, the death of another African American man, George Floyd, at the hands of police, and recently the news of the passing of our friend, colleague, and School Board Chair Marny Xiong.

There are no words that will make things right or better.  WE at Farnsworth want our students and families to know that you matter and WE are here to support your child(ren) and family.  For that reason, we are providing some guidance for you on how to help support your child(ren) as they maneuver the feelings they have right now.

I know we are entering the summer months but I want to stress that WE are here for you, if you need to get in touch with Farnsworth Aerospace PreK-4 over the summer, please call 651-293-8675 and leave a message or email me at and we will support you with any guidance you may need.

I want to thank you parents and guardians for all the work that you did to support Distance Learning these last few months.  THANK YOU for teaching, supporting, and encouraging your child(ren) every day of Distance Learning.  YOU made the difference.  Nelson Mandela stated, “it always seems impossible until it is done.”   I know that many adults had the feeling that Distance Learning would be impossible but we did it and WE at Farnsworth Aerospace PreK-4 are grateful for you.

Thank you for your continued partnership and support.

John Bjoraker, Principal

Farnsworth PreK-4 Meal Service

There will be many opportunities throughout the summer for meal pickups. Please use the following link for information on meal service throughout the summer.

Student iPads

I want to remind all of our families that ALL students will keep their iPads throughout the summer.  Superintendent Gothard would like ALL students to have the opportunity to access resources online throughout the summer.  We will not be collecting any devices until we return to school.

Leaving Saint Paul Public Schools

If your child is leaving Saint Paul Public Schools for the 2020-2021 school year, we will be collecting iPads, cords, and hotspots on Monday June 8th from 9:00-12:00PM and Monday June 15th from 3:00-6:00PM at Farnsworth Aerospace PreK-4. If these dates/times do not work, please contact John Bjoraker at 651-293-8675 or

Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer-  What is P-EBT?

Pandemic Electronic Benefit Transfer (P-EBT) is a temporary food benefit available to Minnesota families with children who would have received free or reduced-price meals if schools were open. Families with eligible children will receive a one-time payment of $325 per child on a new or existing EBT card to help fill the gap created by a loss of school meals. The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) has authorized the Minnesota Department of Human Services, the Minnesota Department of Education and Code for America to operate the program.
