Welcome to the 2021-2022 School Year

Welcome to the 2021-2022 school year. For more information, check out information here at our back to school page.

  • The first day of school for grades 1-12 is Thursday, September 9.
Students in pre-k and kindergarten start on Monday, September 13.

We are excited about starting a new school year and welcoming you and your students back to in-person learning. We recognize that the last 18 months and the COVID-19 pandemic have increased stress for many in our school community. As we begin the 2021-22 school year, we will focus on supporting the social, emotional and physical health of our students, staff and families.

All grades (PreK-12) will attend school
in-person five days a week for the
    2021-22 school year.

Find more information on the COVID-19 prevention guidelines that will be in place for the beginning of the 2021-22 school year. Download the Back to School Guide in EnglishHmongKarenSomali and Spanish.
  • SPPS will require face masks for all teachers, staff, students and visitors (ages 2 and older) in all SPPS buildings, regardless of a person’s vaccine status. Families should familiarize themselves with the SPPS COVID-19 Student and Family Guidelines, which are updated regularly and cover prevention strategies, health screening and monitoring, and the SPPS COVID-19 Reporting System.
