Coffee Fundraiser to Support 5th Graders & Outdoor Education Week

Coffee For Sale

Every year EXPO Elementary 5th graders are given the amazing opportunity to spend five days in the Boundary Waters Canoe Area at Camp Widjiwagan. Students learn a variety of outdoor and life lessons while surrounded by the incredible backdrop of the BWCA. This year we are introducing a new fundraiser to help ensure that ALL EXPO 5th graders are able to participate.

Guillermo and Cathy Velasquez, a local Saint Paul family, started Velasquez Family Coffee in 2001 wishing to share their expertise of offering high-quality coffee grown by their family with Minnesotans. The coffee is shade-grown using environmentally friendly farming practices, the coffee farms are small, and the farmers who plant, tend and harvest the coffee are fairly compensated for their hard work with fair-trade prices. The coffee is shipped to Minnesota and roasted in small batches by a master roaster.

Coffee for this fundraiser may be purchased (starting at $8.50) at EXPO school events, from Mark Mueller at anytime, as well as online where a larger selection is available to chose from.  This is a great opportunity for teacher gifts, if your child’s teacher is a coffee lover, as well as holiday and special celebration gifts for your neighbors, family members, and co-workers.

Those wishing to sign up for a monthly coffee subscription (your first 12-oz. bag is free) may do so by visiting their website at,  If you order online, please write EXPO Elementary in the notes section of your order to ensure EXPO gets the funds raised.  THANK YOU FOR YOUR SUPPORT!
