Volunteers Needed for 8th Grade Field Trip June 7th!

Dear Parents, Guardians, and Friends of Farnsworth 8th grade students:

On June 7th, our 8th grade Farnsworth students will visit JA Finance Park, a component of a unique experiential education program operated by Junior Achievement. This visit is one of the concluding activities to the JA Finance Park program, which encompasses important elements of personal financial literacy and career awareness.

While visiting JA Finance Park, each student will become an adult for the day. All students will be responsible for planning a monthly budget for themselves and their fictional families.

To ensure a successful visit, we need 10 to 12 adult volunteers to accompany us to JA Finance Park. Volunteers will provide guidance to the students as they plan their budgets. Volunteers are required to complete an online registration prior to our visit to JA Finance Park. Please visit https://www.jaum.org/programs/ja-finance-park/ja-finance-park-volunteers/ for more information.

Volunteers will also be required to attend a training meeting at the Junior Achievement facility ONE HOUR before students arrive on the day of our visit. This training provides volunteers with the opportunity to understand the in-class program as well as the on-site schedule and procedures. They will gain firsthand knowledge and experience about their role in assisting the students.

The volunteer facilitator training is held at JA Finance Park, located at 1745 University Ave West St. Paul, MN 55104. The training will be held on the morning of the students’ visit to JA Finance Park on June 7th. Volunteer facilitators should arrive no later than 9AM.

If you are interested in volunteering, please complete the form below no later than May 10th.  Paper forms are also available in our main office at Farnsworth Aerospace 5-8. After completing the form, please watch for a confirmation e-mail with further details.
