September Spotlight from Ms. Mickelson

Dear Four Seasons A+ Families,

During the first four weeks of Distance Learning our Four Seasons A+ staff has been focused on getting 100% of our students and families connected.  When we say connected, we aren’t just referring to getting online (although that is a great starting point), we are also talking about being connected through the relationships we are building. These relationships could be teacher to student, student to student, or teacher to families. We are proud to say that during the first few weeks of Distance Learning, we’ve managed to get 96% of our community connected digitally. This is largely due to the dedication and hard work of our fabulous staff.

 

We know that for many it may have been frustrating to navigate this process.  Our hope is that even if it was frustrating at first, you feel the support of our learning community and that makes it just a bit less frustrating. I want to be absolutely clear when I say we are here to make our Distance Learning experience the best it can be for our students and families. Will there be some bumps along the way? Yes, there certainly will be as we are all learning and growing through the process of navigating something we’ve never done before. The beauty is that we are all learning and growing together…students, educators, and families.

 

Being connected relies on being able to communicate.  Please make sure your contact information is updated. If something changes, let your child’s teacher know and/or call our office. No one is currently working from the building but our clerks do check voicemail on a regular basis. You can expect a response within 24 business hours. Also, should you need an interpreter, we have several available and we can also access language line.  Please reach out if you require these services as we are happy to provide them.

Saint Paul Public Schools has made the decision to remain in a Distance Learning model for the foreseeable future. This means we might be navigating nearly everything “for the first time”.  This might mean a new way to do conferences, hold school/community events, and more! We appreciate your patience as we work through what all of this might look like and we welcome your input for creative/innovative ideas on how to make our systems work for all families during Distance Learning and beyond.  Watch for future opportunities to formally share. Finally, we want to thank you for all of the patience, grace, and support you’ve shown our learning community as we get everyone connected.
