SPPS receives Super School Breakfast Grant from Super Bowl Host Committee
Saint Paul Public Schools will benefit from a donation by The Minnesota Super Bowl Host Committee Legacy Fund. The committee recently celebrated a Super School Breakfast Campaign grant dedication at Adams Spanish Immersion Elementary. The $30,000 grant includes money for breakfast carts and electronic menu boards at several schools throughout the district. In addition, the committee will be providing Breakfast-in-the-Classroom grants to elementary, middle and high schools in 52 communities across the state leading up to Super Bowl LII.
SPPS has been a leader in increasing access to breakfast for all students by trying innovative tactics like providing Breakfast to Go. Nutrition Services is currently working to increase participation for secondary school breakfast.
SPPS will use Legacy funds to purchase two breakfast carts for Harding, which will improve the visual appeal and accessibility of breakfast delivery. The carts will also be used to provide other meals at the school as well.
