Our Principal

Elizabeth Cherek is the Principal at John A. Johnson Achievement Plus.  

Ms. Cherek brings a wealth of experience in helping our youngest students succeed. She has served as a Pre-K, kindergarten and elementary teacher, a staff coach to support early learning programs, and most recently, as a continuous improvement specialist for John A. Johnson to help improve student achievement. Ms. Cherek understands the importance of collaborating with staff and families and embracing the unique gifts that each child brings. Throughout her career, she has created schoolwide systems to provide individual support to students and mentored staff to help improve their skills. She values the importance of building relationships and helping all students and families feel represented and accepted for who they are. 

Ms. Cherek is proud to continue the great work of John A. Johnson and supports its vision to ROAR (relationships, opportunities for all, academic achievement and responsibility). 

Ms. Cherek has excellent academic qualifications with both a Bachelor of Arts degree in anthropology and a Bachelor of Science degree in Education from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, and a Master of Education degree in curriculum and instruction with a specialization in reading.
