In-Person Academic Support Update

Johnson High School is happy to tell you that approximately 200 students to be invited back to school starting on February 22 for the JHS in-person academic support program.

Please click on this link from the principal for Metro Transit busing information as Johnson High School students use Metro Transist buses and trains instead of yellow buses.

Starting the week of February 22, some students will be back in school for 2.5 hours on two days each week from 12:30 to 3:00 PM. Invited students in grades 11 and 12 will be in school at those times on Mondays and Wednesdays; invited students in grades 9 and 10 will be here on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Students will be assigned a specific room that will be their home for the entire support session. There will be no passing times or room changes. Teachers will come to the students. Support for elective courses and for English Language Learners and students with Individual Education Plans will also be provided.

Please keep in mind that the in-person program starting on February 22 is designed to assist students in finding success and earning credits in their online courses. Teachers will not be teaching new lessons, but giving students direct in-person tutorial support in completing the online lessons they already have. JHS and all other SPPS high schools remain distance learning programs until further notice.

This is not a mandated program. Invited students are not required to participate.

We look forward to seeing some of our students during this first stage of our reopening.

Thank you.
