Leadership Change at Maxfield Elementary School

Dear Maxfield Community,

With mixed emotions, I am writing to announce that after five years as principal at Maxfield. I have accepted a new position as principal with Roseville Area Public Schools.

My respect and appreciation for Maxfield students, families, and staff made this one of the most difficult decisions I have made in my life. Our scholars are incredible. They embody everything that I believe is good in schooling and this world. I will miss the fist bumps, the hugs, and the seeing the pride on their faces when they learn something new.

Together, we have created a school community that values collaboration to help foster the talents of all our students. We continued Maxfield’s rich tradition of family partnership and student support grounded in our daily affirmation of I am Somebody. We could not have accomplished so much without your support and for that I’m truly grateful.

The Maxfield leadership team will identify two staff members and two parent/community members to be part of a school interview team. Assistant Superintendent Andrew Collins will convene the group for principal candidate interviews in late-June/early-July . You will have an opportunity to meet your new principal at an event to be scheduled before school starts in the fall. If you have questions about the process, please contact me.

Serving Maxfield previously as a teacher and now as principal has been an honor and thank you for trusting me with your child’s education.

Sincerely,

Ryan Vernosh, Principal
Maxfield Elementary School
