November 9, 2022 Update

Dear Murray Middle School Families,

I am writing to inform you about an incident that took place in our school community today. Our school went into a precautionary lockout due to an unverified threat against a student. Doors were locked and no one was allowed to enter the building beginning around 1 p.m. and continuing for 45 minutes.

The incident was brought to my attention and was addressed immediately along with our partners at the Saint Paul Public Schools Security and Emergency Management team and the Saint Paul Police Department. We followed our safety procedures and further investigated the incident. There was no threat to the school.

Please know that we take any type of real or perceived threats seriously and fully investigate any threat made at our school, our staff or students.

Students are often aware of situations before adults, so please remind your child that it is important for them to report concerns to a trusted adult.

If you have any questions or other concerns about school, please don’t hesitate to call me at 651-293-8740.

Thank you for supporting your child and Murray Middle School.

In Partnership,

Jamin McKenzie, Principal

Murray Middle School
