Prepare for Winter Weather

Preparing for Winter Weather

Posted by Randolph Heights on November 10, 2017

It's time to prepare for snow and cold temperatures.  Please make sure students have the proper outdoor winter clothing for outdoor recess.  We go out daily, unless the temperature or windchill chill is 0 degrees or below.  If you need help with the proper outdoor winter clothing, please call school at 651-293-8780 for assistance.

The safety and well-being of students and staff are our top priority and the decision to close school is no simple matter.

Please dowload the MySPPS Bus app in case buses are running late.  Text messages will be sent to parents if buses are running 30 minutes or more late.

Before deciding to close school due to extreme winter weather conditions, Saint Paul Public Schools Superintendent Joe Gothard consults with a variety of experts both inside and outside the district. Our commitment is to keep families, staff and the community informed of weather-related school closings and cancellations.

Please note that we continually monitor the forecast from the National Weather Service in order to make the best decision for students, staff and families. Additionally, delayed start times are not logistically possible in Saint Paul Public Schools.

For more information, please review the 2017-18 Winter Weather Plan.
