Dear Washington Technology Magnet Community,
I am writing to inform you of some upcoming changes to the leadership team at Washington Technology Magnet School. First, I want to share the new administrative structure for the 2022-23 school year. Washington is the largest school building in the district. In order to better support enrollment, the middle school model, and the new 8/2 schedule, we will have a middle school administrative team and a high school administrative team. The middle school administrative team will consist of a principal and two assistant principals. The high school administrative team will consist of a principal and three assistant principals.
Second, Principal Bonnick is taking a different administrative position with Saint Paul Public Schools next year. Principal Bonnick’s last day at Washington is June 30, 2022. I’d like to personally thank Principal Bonnick for her years of service in supporting the Washington Tech community.
For the 2022-23 school year, I am pleased to announce that Elias Oguz will be the high school principal. Principal Oguz was a math teacher and secondary principal, and most recently was the principal at Barack and Michelle Obama Elementary. Mindy McBride will be the middle school principal. Principal McBride has been a principal at Global Art Plus and most recently at Parkway. Both of these leaders bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the Washington community. You can expect an introduction letter from both principals in the near future.
