Application Deadline for Kindergarten and 6th Grade Saint Paul Public Schools has revised the deadline to apply for Kindergarten and Sixth Grade. The new date is February 28. All of our families who have incoming Kindergarteners need to complete an application ( by February 28. All families enrolling a child in middle school have to do the same. Help Wanted: Part-time Lunchroom Supervisor 4 hours a week starting February 11 on Tuesdays and Wednesdays. Pay starts at $13 an hour. Free Family Bingo Night! Bring your friends, neighbors and family to a fun and exciting bingo night on Thursday, February 28 at 6:15pm in the cafeteria. We will play lots of bingo and have popcorn and juice for all. Thanks to the PTA for sponsoring this great, community event.


Spring 2019 Girls on the Run at Horace Mann - Registration is Open! Registration is now open for the Spring 2019 season of Girls on the Run at Horace Mann! GOTR Twin Cities engages in a lottery based online registration system between Feb. 1 and Feb. 6 to ensure a fair and equal process for all girls. After Feb. 6, registration is on a first-come-first-served basis.


Girls on the Run is an after-school program that uses the power of running to prepare 3rd - 5th grade girls for a lifetime of self-respect and healthy living. Over the course of the 10-week, 20-lesson season, girls learn life-changing lessons about healthy friendships, teamwork, decision-making, self-respect and more, all while preparing to run a 5k.


Open to all 3rd - 5th grade girls; no previous running experience required, and need-based financial aid is available. Girls on the Run can also provide shoes, pants, and/or sports hijabs if needed. Register today!


Our Spring 2019 season will be each Tuesday & Thursday 3:00 - 4:45 from March 19 - June 4 culminating with the Girls on the Run 5k on June 1. Space is limited so register early! Visit or contact Laura Rapacz at for more information.


We need to fill 45 slots for Great Gatherings -- and we only have 27! These fun social events account for nearly half of the money raised at the auction and are a great way for you and your kids to meet and play with other Horace Mann families and staff. The funds we raise contribute to many of the enrichment activities our students enjoy all year. We have lots of hosting ideas and show you how to do it at the Great Gatherings website. Please visit us now to check the calendar and submit your form. Forms are due: February 26.


Some people have contacted us because they're looking for someone to team up with. If you'd like to pitch in but don't have an idea of your own, consider joining another host. We can connect you both.

The 2019 Horace Mann PTA Silent & Live Auction:  ‘One Small Night for Mann, One Giant Leap for Mann Kids’ This year’s Silent Auction will be here before you know it.  Remember to save Friday, March 8th to attend this fun, adults-only event at Harriet Island Pavilion. We need YOU to make the event a success and support PTA funded programs at Horace Mann!

  4. The easiest way to contribute is to pick up a gift certificate to any STORE or RESTAURANT and donate it to the auction!
  5. We are collecting donations of adult beverages to be raffled for our WALL OF ADULT BEVERAGES.  Donations can be dropped in the school office.
  6. Do you have a small business or a service that could use an ADVERTISING OPPORTUNITY?  The Auction Catalog is the perfect way to market to the Horace Mann community! $25 buys a business card size ad, $50 for a half page, and $100 for a full page!  A great way to promote! Curbside Service to and from the Auction! Please join us before the auction on Friday, March 8, at Tiffany's Sports Lounge (2051 Ford Pkwy) and grab a shuttle ride to and from the event!


The shuttle will depart from Tiffany's around 6:00pm, and will leave the Harriet Island Pavilion to return to Tiffany's at approximately 10:30pm. Cost is $15/person, round trip.  The fee for your ride will be added to the auction bill you pay at the end of the event. Please Note: The cost to rent and run the shuttle has been donated by Tiffany's owner, Blake Montpetit. All of the money we raise from fares will go directly to Horace Mann!

SPPS Parenting Seminar Offered Come join us for a free evening to learn about children's emotions and behaviors. You will learn more about children's brains, emotions, and behaviors so that you understand why they do what they do. You will practice ways to help your child(ren) with their emotions. You will learn when we should be concerned as parents and guardians and when to seek help.


The free class is Thursday, March 14 at Horace Mann School. Free dinner provided at 5:30pm for you and your child(ren). Free childcare provided while you are in class.
