How and when do school patrols cancel walking lines?

Each school patrol captain decides with his or her family if and/or when to cancel the school patrol line. Examples might include extreme cold weather, lightning or patrol captain absence.

Before School

The school patrol captain will use our notification system, Connect 5, to call the families in their line. Students will try to leave a message 30 minutes before they begin walking.

After School

The school patrol supervisor and/or the principal will make a decision to cancel patrol lines by 12pm. We will use Connect 5 to notify all families. Students will be held at school until coordinating with families for transportation home. For severe weather, the school patrol lines may also be held at school until it is deemed safe to depart. Families will be notified with Connect 5, but students will still walk.
