Here is the latest information from Mr. Gunsten's class:
As we move towards the holidays and a new year, please take a moment to make sure eveything is going okay with distance learning- and let me know if there is anything I can do to help!
-Attendance: Make sure your 4th grader is checking in on Campus every day. I do my best to remember who is at our Google Meets and who does work, but I do forget sometimes! The only sure way to make sure your child is being counted as present is to check-in on Campus student. If you or your 4th grader needs a reminder on how to do this, let me know.
-Schedule: Our schedule has stayed pretty much the same with a few small changes. All students need to attend the morning meeting at 9:30 every school day. We do morning meeting from 9:30-9:50 and now we are doing the math lesson most days from 9:50-10:15. Then we have specialists from 10:20-11:10. Starting after winter break we will do our literacy lesson from 11:30-12:00. I also have office hours and social meet from 2:15-2:45 Monday through Thursday.
-Specialists: Speaking of schedules- specialists are reporting that very few students are showing up to the 10:20 Google Meet for specialists (days vary by specialist). Just a reminder- specialists classes are not optional. Let me know if you have any questions about this.
-Arts residency: We are currently working on setting up an arts residency for our 4th grade class that will take the place of the opera (even though I've heard that the opera is irreplaceable!). Stay tuned for more updates after winter break!
That's about it for now. Be sure to reach out with any questions or concerns.
Take care, Chuck Gunsten
